Altar Support

There are so many opportunities for adults and children to participate in our worship service:

Acolytes:  Children - and adults - can serve at the altar in various capacities as acolytes.

Children's Cross - we have young children carrying the children's cross and leading the Sunday School students and teachers to their classes.

Torch Bearers -  older children and teenagers may participate as torch bearers.  They join the processions and assist as necessary.

Crucifer - teenagers carry the cross in the processions and assist as necessary.

Lectors / Readers:  the lector reads the first lesson of scripture in the service.

Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM):  The Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM) assists the priest during the service, in particular in administering the sacraments of holy communion, the consecrated bread and wine.  They also lead the reading of the Psalm, read the second scripture lesson, an lead the Prayers of the People.

Altar Guild:  The Altar Guild makes sure the altar is cared for each week.  They prepare supplies for Communion, clean the vessels and linens used, and respectfully return the altar to order after the service.  They also care for the for the flowers and plants used in the service.

Music:  We praise God through our music - an eclectic blend of traditional and praise music that is always joyful.  Organ, piano, guitar, and voice lead us in celebration.  The children often join in the closing hymn with maracas.
